differences in EM64T vs. AA-64 |
| Text: |
Latetly I found this "AMD and Intel Harmonize on 64" on Microprocessor Report website (http://www.mdronline.com/watch/watch_abstract.asp?Volname=Issue%20%23118&SID=1137). It talks something about "few differences that could make some software written for one 64-bit architecture incompatible with the other architecture". Does anybody know what this means? While surfing other sites I stumbled on "only two instructions were discovered in a forthcoming version of the AMD64 architecture that did not appear in Intel's EM64T". ARE those two instructions the ONLY differences in EM64T vs. AA-64? Anyone knows the names of those instructions? |
